Coffeeing Up North

I'm so backlogged, kainis. But most recent post first.

Anyway, yesterday while the Mayon was erupting and John Lloyd being deported from Japan, I was here..

But it was sooo hot, we couldn't stand it. We had to go somewhere with AC. You know you always need AC in AC (Angeles City). So we drove to San Fernando and ended up at Coffee Academy in Sindalan. The place was very cozy and nice..

Too bad I didn't bring my camera so I had to settle with the crappy phone cam.

I love the wall. Don't you?

And the sofa.. Hope you could see it in this darkness.

That's eD - getting ready to go because he's craving lelot. (Lugaw slash Arroz Caldo slash Porridge)

I ordered White Hazelnut. eD ordered Cookies and Cream. Jason ordered Choco Mint and Vj ordered Raspberry.

Mine was the yummiest. eD said his drink tasted like vanilla milkshake. I didn't get Jason and Vj's comment. Haha!

One thing though, it was still hot at the second floor of Coffee Academy (with AC turned on). Argh! So we left..

Later tonight

Just a quick note..

No Pyro Olympics tonight til the end of the year.

Shoutout: Happy Birthday Jammie, Ate Eian, Yoshie and Kim. I'm leaving now to attend their Fontana partey. Cheers and Hugs! :p

2010

I got my 2010 calendar for my KS planner last night.

I'm so0o ready for 2010. Ang aga! Hehe.

Anyway, I also got this super cute laptop bag at the Moonlit Bazaar at Rockwell last night. (I know.. but this does not count in the 'no-new-bags-til-end-of-the-year' list because it is a laptop bag :P)

They served free Mojitos last night. The bazaar runs til November 29 so go check it out.

Fireworks! Fireworks! Spectacular! Spectacular!

Okay, I just sounded very Moulin Rouge right there. Anyways, back in 2005, I watched the first World Pyro Olympics near Mall of Asia. Back then, we didn't have to pay for tickets. I missed out on the next 3 years. I dreaded the traffic. This year I'm thinking of going.

The Halloween party went pretty well. Our trip was amazing - I'll write about it soon. I need to get some rest right now. I'm crossing my fingers I'd get the call for the Panel interview.

Crazy Razy.

Three days before a Halloween Ball. Project: 23 costumes. It's crazy when you don't get to see those people everyday (Fitting, payments, props, designs). Hehe. Thanks for the help, gf.

Weekend. Reunion. Cemetery. Down South then up North.

Six days before the Anniversary trip. I booked our hotel in Macau. No hotel yet for HK. I'm confused. Help. Packing hasn't started yet - considering I have to be packed by Thursday.

I can do this.

Red & Purps

My sore throat is back. 2 weeks ago, I suffered from another sore throat while we ate at Pepper Lunch in Powerplant for my dad's birthday. Tonight was just another dinner and movie date with eD & my parents. More about the movie to follow. We had dinner at Pepper Lunch (again). I ordered Beef Curry Rice (again). Sore throat (again). Hay.. I need to drink one week's worth of antibiotics. Okay lang, it's so cute.. Matches my vivo.

That's it for now.. Need to rest. Gnyt!

27th

I'm officially 27 today.

I tried to wake up early to run my usual Monday errands, but felt I could just have a little more sleep because it's my day.

I got my gift from eD last night. We were driving home from Tagaytay with mom and dad when my mom asked him to park the car so she could put sugar in her hot Starbucks brewed. eD pulled over while talking to his sister on the phone. She asked him to look for her phone. She left it in the car. eD asked me to look for it while he called the phone. I found it under my seat, wrapped in purple bimpo (haha, i don't even know why it's wrapped like that. to prevent scratches I suppose?) The phone was wrapped with a white ribbon with pink polka's. It was a white E71. It was my gift! :) Aww, I wanted to hug him pero my dad and mom was right there at the back seat. Baka sabunutan ako. Hehe. They were teasing me. It was so sweet. I know it's been difficult for eD because I had so many on my wish list, but this one was the first. Yey.

I fiddled with my phone all the way from Tagaytay to Makati. I didn't feel dizzy at all, but was tired when eD parked our car outside our house. I had to go upstairs and change clothes. Me and eD were meeting Jason and the new beau at GB. When I went inside, surprise!!! Everyone was there and I wasn't ready because my hair was a mess. I was really caught off guard. Tita Es was holding my cake. I really appreciated that everyone came and stayed, considering it's a Sunday and everyone had work the next day, except me. Harhar. Thanks for coming guys! I had fun.

Shoutouts to Gfs & Bfs Rizza, Jay, Sof and Nico for the Tobler Cake. Hindi ko siya kilala because I never go outside Makati. Pero it's so yummy. I'd probably learn how to go to BF to get some.

Thanks Tita Nory for baking me a cake. I dunno what it's called e. Everyone loved it.

Thanks Tita Es, Erin and Ate Eian for my Choco Mousse. All time favorite.

I really have to have a cake on my bithday. It's a must. And now I have three. Yey!

Of course, thanks bun for the surprises. Never suspected a thing, so it was successful. Argh!

Signing off now. I have to renew my license, go to mass and have a mani and pedi. Thanksies!

In light of Ondoy

I was appalled by the famous Jacque Bermejo comment on Facebook followed by Yubin. A day after, I realized that maybe somebody just wanted a bit of internet fame (Blogging would be too hard for them right? harhar.) Then I read this one. I got confused. Better to focus on more productive things.

On a lighter note, this is one muna. Kakakilig.. (I've never really liked GA's beauty - too babyish. But this is just so adorable, i mean admirable. Hehe.)

That's his brother on the right..

And another hotness hero.. So cute with the surfboard :P

Thanks for GA and JR's pictures.

Bunnies' New Toy

Yoshie pulled out a set of Easter egg playing cards a couple of Saturdays ago at a birthday party. I was begging him to buy me one. He said he wouldn't because he bought me something else and pulled this out. Weee! It is so cute. I lab et. :P thanks sweetie.

God please help us!

I opted not to go out last night with eD and the boys because I had work 5am this morning.
4:15 am - I woke up. It was drizzling, went to work and did the usuals.
9:00 am - I went on break. It looked like it was 6am outside. I was still hyped to see my bestfriend tonight, she's throwing a dinner party for her birthday.
10:00 am - My dad called telling me NOT to come home yet. Our street is flooded. I was dumbfounded. Never in my 26 years of living there had we had water in our street above our ankles.
11:00 am - They decided to let everyone at work go home. I woke eD up. I had nowhere to go. His island home is not passable at all. He can't get out, I can't go in:(
12:30 pm - We grabbed lunch at Mc in Glorietta. The walkway from G5 to Glorietta was flooded. The parking was starting to accumulate water too. When we reached inside Glorietta, it was flooded too. Yes, inside.
1:30pm - Rain hasn't stopped yet. Dad said I should get home. I sent a couple of emails from the office then drove home. I took the Ayala-Buendia-Reposo-Jupiter route instead of my usual Ayala-Makati Ave-Jupiter Route. I wanted to see how bad it was in Buendia, as what eD was saying. I didn't see a thing - just traffic along Buendia, Osmena Highway bound. Buendia to our house was a breeze.
2:30 pm - I got home - on my warm bed, watched the news while drinking warm Calamansi juice. My cough and colds are getting worse. I went on FB and saw videos and photos of the flood. I realized how grave the situation here in our country is. I started to pray for those who lost their homes, loved ones. Please God, stop the rain.
5:30 pm - I'm starting to get sad - missing eD. I want him beside me or wherever I can see him. I have no choice.. I'm hoping he can make it to our house tonight.
5:50 pm - Mom was panicking. News said the power will be out by 6pm. Why? I charged everything that needs to be charged. It's a little past 6pm. Power is still here. God is good. Please don't cut the power out.

God help us all here in the Philippines!

DDDora!

It's been a while.. did you miss me? :P I have so much to post - where to start, where to start?

I wasn't feeling good the other night. Mom woke up me up because my sister was on the phone. I was bangag when I spoke to her. I remember she mentioned something about my niece, Abby screaming and getting scared of someone in the house that wasn't even there. Mumu? Also, it was too cute when she mentioned Abby now counts - in Spanish. Uno, dos, tres. And even says Buenos Dias! She loves Dora. I believe all little girls (ang boys? including eD) love Dora. Me too. She's so cute. I love Diego too because he looks like eD. Hehe. I dozed off and heard my sister say, hello? hello? Confession: I fell asleep ate. Sorry. Teehee. Good thing, we wouldn't have to pay heaps for the phone bill. Thanks to Vonage. Talk to you again soon.

Here's a cute slash disturbing pic of Dora I stumbled upon in Facebook. Enjoy!

Grrrr..

Internet at home has been down since yesterday. I'm here at Powerplant, making use of their slow, mall-wide, free wifi. There's so many people here. I keep forgetting - it's the weekend already. Have fun people! :)

Now, I'm off to the grocery to buy ingredients. I'm cooking another Mexican dish for dinner.

(keeping my fingers crossed that internet will be back up when I get home.)

Movie Frenzy

Since I'm so behind on my posts, let me do 4 movies in one :)
The Proposal
Seen with: eD and Jason (trio date w/ my bf and gf)
This is the first of the four movies we watched in a span of two weeks. It wasn't too keso-ish, not a tear jerker either (That's a first for me.) I couldn't remember much about it except that I wanted to have a house like that in Sitka (then later I found out it was shot in Bearskin Neck, Rockport in Massachusetts - yes, I googled it) and

that orange Birkin Sandra was babying..

and this guy I'm gonna baby..

Forget his abs with that smile. * blush*

Okay, I take that back. Next!

The Orphan
Seen with: eD, Sofhia, Nico, Jason and Tan (I had to summon my friends so I'd have the courage.)

So it wasn't a horror flick - that didn't keep me from covering my eyes. It was too twisted for me. I couldn't take it that a kid would can do such things and how Esther can manipulate people. I literally wanted to walk out of the movie and just wait in Coffee Bean, but eD was having too much fun. It was a good psycho thriller movie. I loved the twist and how it is not similar to other thrillers that I've watched before. I heard Leonardio DiCaprio produced it. Am I right? If you missed watching it on theaters, go get it on DVD. Close the lights and enjoy. :)

But she looks oh so cute, off cam.

Just like a normal, little, hollywood gal..

The Hangover
Seen with: eD (Saturday night date, which would be better if we watched it with friends.)

What planned to be as a Saturday date night turned both eD and I missing the guys. We wanted to visit Jj in Vegas, like now na. I got scared thinking of what might happen to eD's or Jj's bachelor's party. Yikes. The characters were played by eD, Jj, Tantan and Jason. It's up to you guys to decide which is Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug :P It was hilarious. I couldn't get over it - laughing at the shallowest detail (bakit may manok?) I couldn't stop talking about it in the car til we met up with Jason and Alane at Chris' birthday party at Shang. We did 'Shot!' but sadly, no hangover.

Oh, and he's hot too. U think?

I'm tired.. Fourth movie to follow tomorrow. I'm sure you'll love Derek. Nyty.

If you want to spend money during payday weekend..

This might be the perfect time to go visit the new Eastwood Mall. I haven't been around there for a little over a year now. (Except during the wee hours to go to Manor and Circa. Hehe.)

Photos in 3D

Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1. This is interesting.

I'm not too sure if Fujifilm is the first one to release 3D cameras, but I'd love to get one. Other brands will definitely release their own crazier versions. Probably a Sony with 5 lenses or whatever. I'm not a techie, camera person. What I know, point and shoot. :P

See sample pic
. Be sure to hover your mouse around the picture. Isn't it cool? It would be perfect for our upcoming Hong Kong - Macau trip. Teehee.

Right now, I feel lazy to research how much it costs. Any thoughts?

Thank you and Farewell, President Cory Aquino

I was just supposed to watch the cortege from the balcony of eD's condo. As I waited while watching the coverage of ABS CBN, anticipation settled in. We then decided to grab our umbrellas and brave the rain. We walked to the Buendia flyover and had a perfect top view of the whole cortege. It was overwhelming and then you realize that indeed, you are a proud Filipino. No need to go into the nitty gritty of what she had done for us, I'm sure all of you already know.. :)

More pictures here.

The Beef Enchilada Moment

On my ongoing quest to cook Mexican dishes, eD chose a harder dish this time. Beef Enchilada. In the middle of making the taco sauce, I was already discouraged because the dish didn't smell good. It didn't look good either. Judgement came..

It took only two meals for him to finish the entire dish. Twas supposed to be good for 4.

The last serving..

So I guess it was yummy after all, but I'm not stopping there. I'd like to perfect this dish because eD loved it! Practice, practice, practice. I'm not discouraged to try and cook new dishes too. I'm just hoping to find the perfect food processor to make chopping veggies faster.

Would you do this on your wedding?

I've always wanted a fun and unique wedding, but I don't think I'd consider this one specially on a church wedding.. probably a garden or beach wedding perhaps?

This video has over 6 million views in a span of 6 days. Wow! It really is cute and it seems to me everyone there had a blast..

On second thought, nothing beats like an exclusive and unrivaled Boracay wedding like my friends', Aenid and Chris. That really serves as an inspiration to me for my own wedding, whenever that would be.. Hehe. See pictures here.

CebuPac Seat Sale.. No, no, not again!

I have this bad habit of checking Cebu Pacific's website. Who knows, maybe they're having another seat sale. I was right when I checked yesterday.

I'm pretty sure most of you are already booked, but for some of you who's not.. It's CebuPac's 1st year in NAIA Terminal 3. What better way to celebrate it is by cutting ALL domestic and international flights in half. Sale Period is from July 22 to 24 for flights within September 1 to November 30. (tip: they usually start selling the tickets online at around 6pm of the day of the announce sale period. I saw the promo last night.)

Very, very tempting. I have to admit, I was cringing to the fact that I am NOT availing this promo. I repeat, I'm NOT availing this promo. I'm in recession. I got over the fact that I'm cutting down shopping expenses. After this, I know that I have gotten over cutting down on travel expenses.

I'm sure you're not so go ahead, click it and book it:
Take me away from here. I wanna go on vacation.

That yummy Coron Trip or Korea Trip with the fam (friends included of course) is very, very hard to resist, but I have to pass. Boo, Leah, boo!

CBTL's Swirl Card

I'm not the go-online-on-any-wifi-spot kinda gal. In fact, it was my first time to even bring a laptop to the mall yesterday. I just wanted to keep eD company while he reviews for his midterm exam. I didn't want to go on my usual 'window shop only but end up overspending again' route while waiting for him.

Thanks to my friend, Drew who is a loyalty/reward card collector for mentioning that his new addition to his collection is a Swirl Card.

To avail this, you just need to purchase any beverage or food worth P250. Just sign the form and the barista will give you the password. I think for some people, the barista typed in the password on their laptops. You can also purchase and reload the card here using your credit card.

What's your favorite drink? More tea lattes for me..

For every P100 spent earns you 5 points or P5.00. We'll see how many points I'd be able to accumulate before this card rots and gets forgotten in my wallet. Hehe. You also have free wi-fi access everytime you enjoy your coffee at CBTL. I guess this will help me shop less while eD does his schoolwork.

Go get one now. :)

The Story of a Name

I am still toxicgrrrl, but I think the name is too gradeschooly slash highschooly slash college-ish.
I love lilies. I'd love to name one of my kids Lily.
What you read here is me, all me, the truth and nothing but the truth. Hehe.
Yes, I like using the word when confirming something, preferably with the word
ay. For example, "Ay, trulily!"
Well, it's hard to think of a blog name. I should've started this blog over a month ago,
back when I first got my Vivienne Tam HP Mini (I don't have to carry that big, black computer around) Now I can put it to use, I just need a good blog name (check!) and a nice bag to carry it around with (any suggestions?)

Meet Vivo..

..and the hubby (again with Vivo). Wow, you have no idea how glad he was that I didn't buy another bag.. But hey, it's a digital clutch, so it's as good as a bag anyway :p

Meanwhile, enjoy this new video from BEP.. Check out Vivo's star moment on 2:49.

And here's Hush by PCD (Pardon the poor quality video. I couldn't find a better one on youtube. Vivo on 1:35 - 46.

That's it for now. I'll see you later :*
